Prior to joining the Baxter Harder team, Dan Olsen was a Deputy District Attorney for Marion County In Salem, OR for three years, where he prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from property, drug and DUII crimes to Measure 11 person crimes. He began his legal career as an associate attorney at a family law firm, working on dissolutions, custody and child support issues. He then clerked for a Superior Court Judge in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. He was admitted to the Alaska Bar in 2017 and the Oregon Bar in 2019.
Dan is a graduate of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, where he majored in Political Science and played baseball. Prior to receiving his law degree from Willamette University College of Law, Dan worked for a US Senator, at a float plane business, and at an engineering firm.
Dan loves spending time with his amazing wife and daughter, and loves hiking, golfing, hunting, fishing and rooting for his favorite sports teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners. He is also in the process of starting a podcast with topics ranging from sports to the US Supreme Court – two of his most favorite subject matters.
